We are thrilled to announce that Shari Carter, a dedicated advocate has joined the Lung Transplant Foundation Board. Shari’s dedication to the lung transplant community has been transformative, especially through her efforts to develop, fund, and continually support the The Lung Transplant Foundation Mentorship Program in honor of Joseph (Joe) J. Carter, established in memory of her late husband, Joseph.
Her generosity and passion for patient support have laid the groundwork for a program that has connected countless lung transplant recipients with mentors who guide, support, and inspire them throughout their journeys. This peer-to-peer initiative has become a cornerstone of our work, fostering hope, resilience, and empowerment within our community.
As a board member, Shari’s insight and dedication will help us continue to grow and enhance the Mentorship Program and introduce a first of its kind mindfulness and wellbeing focus to the program. We are excited to see the positive impact she will bring to the Lung Transplant Foundation.
Welcome to the board, Shari!
