Lung Transplant Foundation at American Thoracic Society (ATS) Annual Conference

Topics:

The Executive Director of the Lung Transplant Foundation, attended the American Thoracic Society (ATS) Annual Conference, where she joined fellow members of the Patient Advocacy Roundtable (PAR) to elevate the patient voice in pulmonary medicine and lung transplant.

The conference featured several patient-focused events organized by the PAR, highlighting the importance of lived experiences in shaping research, care models, and public awareness. These sessions provided a platform for patients, caregivers, and advocacy leaders to connect with clinicians and researchers in meaningful ways. Patients had the chance to enjoy lunch with physicians and engage in open conversations, asking questions about a wide range of pulmonary diseases.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of two travel scholarships awarded by the Lung Transplant Foundation to promising early-career researchers. These awards supported their attendance at ATS, where they had the opportunity to present their innovative work in lung transplant research. By investing in young scientists, the Foundation continues to encourage progress and collaboration in the field.

Lung Transplant Foundation’s participation at ATS underscores our dedication to advocacy, education, and advancing research, with patients at the heart of every effort.
