Friends and family will come together to honor Joe Carter and to help others “Breathe Easy” as the Lung Transplant Foundation Introduces the Joseph J. Carter Mentorship Program at VIBE Ultra Music Lounge in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, on Feb. 2, 2017.
Joe died at age 38 from congenital lung failure before being listed for a transplant, leaving behind his son Zachary and his wife Shari who was pregnant with their second child. He envisioned a mentorship program and hoped for the development of new procedures that would better ensure transplant success.
“Joe’s legacy lives on as we support and help others with their lung transplant journey,” says Shari. “This event is an opportunity to introduce supporters of the Just Breathe Foundation to the work of the Lung Transplant Foundation.”
The Joseph J. Carter Mentorship Program is a free, all-volunteer program developed that connects new transplant recipients, as well as their caregivers, with trained mentors who have successfully gone through the transplantation process themselves as either recipients or caregivers.
The happy-hour social event will feature entertainment by Rock With U. Sponsors are Plantation Ford, Rock With U, Schwartzreich & Associates, Buschel & Gibbons, VIBE, The954Agent at Better Homes and Garden Real Estate and Harflo Creative, Inc.
The mission of the Lung Transplant Foundation is to improve the lives of lung transplant patients and their families.
